These days big brother is always watching!
Over the weekend, in North Charleston, S.C. reports rang out that an unarmed black man was shoot/killed by an S.C. police officer during a traffic stop. On Monday, the officer’s attorney made claims that his client, Michael Thomas Slager, feared for his life and the man was trying to grab his stun gun. But a video shot by a unidentified witness would prove different.
Today it was announced that the police officer would be charged with murder. A 50 yr. old black man, Walter Scott, can be seen in a video running away from the officer yet after also being hit by the officer with his stun gun. In a video released to media outlets, the officer can be seen firing several shots at the man as he runs away. It is a very disturbing and shocking video to say the least!
Officer Slager, 33 yrs. old, was taken into custody today by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey spoke out today at a news conference saying that Officer Slager made a ‘bad decision’. He went on to say also, “When you’re wrong, you’re wrong. When you make a bad decision, don’t care if you’re behind the shield or a citizen on the street, you have to live with that decision.”
