Vanity Fair’s editor Lisa Robinson caught up with Jay-Z for their November issue and was able to get the 43 yr. old rapper to spill some quite interesting information with his fans.

Jay-Z talks about his past life as a drug dealer and how that has helped him become a wise business man as well as be able to help in his new role as a sports agent.  He says “I know about budgets.  I was a drug dealer.  To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up.”

One small detail Jay did mention about dealing drugs that will be a lesson for all is that at some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small; you’re going to get locked up or you’re going to die.   Those were his words exactly.

Just reading the article gives you a since of pride that Jay-Z has for his daughter Blue Ivy.  He tells Robinson that Beyonce’ says their 18-month-old prefers Jay’s music over hers.  Jay says “That’s not true.” But he does admit “This album was new [Magna Carta] she loves all the songs.   She plays a song and she goes, ‘More, Daddy, more…Daddy song.’ She’s my biggest fan.”

Jay also boast that Beyonce’ was a good charming Southern girl until she met him.  Robinson asks is she not a good girl anymore.  Hov says “Nah, she’s gangsta now.”
